The Tour de France

The Project
For three weeks each year, for more than 15 years, the Videlio teams have been following the various stages of the Tour de France alongside the event’s key players. Television networks, radio stations, agencies, advertisers, and organizers can count on the technical expertise and quick response times of the teams covering the event.
Solutions Provided
France Télévisions is taking its production on the road:
- A mobile France TV Sport set is fully equipped with turret cameras, remote cameras, and a 65-inch high-brightness screen for the set of the show “Vélo Club.”
- Post-production is carried out on a mobile platform specifically designed to enable the creation of short recaps, “best of” segments, or stage highlights for television networks. A truck divided into five AVID editing suites, an air-conditioned control room, and a control center offers all the comforts of a post-production studio, thanks to an operational, easy-to-set-up configuration designed by the Videlio teams.
- The commentators are also housed in a truck equipped with a 98-inch screen and several 46-inch screens.
ASO broadcasts the best footage via approximately 100 LED and LCD screens set up by the Videlio teams at each stage along the starting line, the finish area, the VIP and press areas, and the stage relay points. On the finish line truck, video is also ubiquitous thanks to two LED walls installed on either side of the podium. The Videlio teams also equipped the ASO editing truck with seven editing systems directly connected to the France Télévisions truck.
