Once again this year, during the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, our rental service played a key role in the event’s media coverage by supporting several major audiovisual productions.

In particular, we provided France Télévisions with a custom technical infrastructure tailored to the needs of TV Festival and C À VOUS, including about ten Avid Media Composer editing stations as well as a Telestream Lightspeed G10 transcoding and workflow server for media processing via Vantage.

Some key figures for the period from May 12 to 24 (13 days, from 9 a.m. to midnight):

  • 4,644 jobs processed by Vantage on the G10, or 357 per day
  • A 97% success rate, with the few failures due to media compliance errors
  • 289 hours of media processed by Outgest for distribution to the Heraw collaborative platform, OB trucks, etc.
  • Outgest is 4 to 5 times faster than real time: a 1-hour sequence processed in less than 15 minutes on average
  • 53 hours of media ingested (imported into Avid Media Central)
  • 91 hours of media archived in the DNxHD 120 codec

In addition, Avid Media Composer workstations (PC and Mac) were made available to the teams at All Four Prod and Flab Prod to ensure a smooth and collaborative production process.

Thanks to this high-performance setup and the expertise of our teams, we were able to deliver a fast, reliable, and secure production workflow to capture the festival’s highlights.
