Can you tell us about the new studios? The timeline for the project? The technical requirements?
Anatole wanted to expand its dubbing business and offer its services to English-speaking distributors. To do so, the company needed to set up studios comparable to those these clients would find in the Paris area. There were several requirements:
- Ensure a high level of recording quality.
- Developing a fully digital audio/video infrastructure that is consistent across all studios (5 in total).
- Ensure the security of our clients’ data.
- Equip the studios with identical equipment across all locations to ensure full interoperability.
Beyond the planning phase of this project, construction began in June 2022, with delivery scheduled for March 2023;
How was collaboration with our teams key to the successful completion of your studios?
To successfully carry out a project like this, close collaboration with the Videlio teams was essential. I probably wouldn’t have embarked on such a project without the assurance that I could rely on the expertise of Fred, Mathieu, and Nyna. I’ve been working with Videlio Post-production for over 15 years now, and this long-standing collaboration has been a major strength for this project.
Can you give us some examples of challenges you faced while setting up the studios? And how were they overcome in collaboration with our teams?
Making the studios fully interoperable. The Videlio team’s thorough preliminary research into the products available on the market and their in-depth knowledge ensured there were no unpleasant surprises during commissioning.
Ensuring video synchronization between the various monitoring screens in each studio. The screens for the art director, the sound engineer, and the monitors in the voice-over booths all had to be perfectly synchronized with the video feed and with each other.

What was the scope of your work on this project?
“The idea was to provide a ‘turnkey’ solution from a technical standpoint.
We worked on the project design (specifications), technology selection, creating system diagrams, developing the ‘Signal Flow,’ preparing the cabling list, on-site integration, and commissioning all the studios.
We also provided on-site training on the selected technologies and how to optimize their use.
Finally, we supported the client throughout the entire construction period and also provided after-sales service (support, configuration, troubleshooting, etc.)”
What were the technical challenges?
“The use of ‘Dante’ forms the foundation of the audio infrastructure for all the studios; this was made possible by our teams’ advanced technological expertise.
We also worked extensively on the ‘dubbing’ aspect in collaboration with Noblurway and their ‘Mosaic’ software:
This application involves certain technical constraints, particularly ensuring the smooth display of “Rythmos” tracks to facilitate the actors’ reading.
We were flexible in our work and during the implementation phase, while accounting for unforeseen circumstances (manufacturer shortages, delivery delays, and potential setbacks in the project schedule).”
